Senior Commissioning Engineer

Full-Time Field-Based Travel Required

About the Role

Lead commissioning activities on hyperscale and enterprise data center projects. You'll own the CX process from script development through IST and turnover, working directly with general contractors, MEP subs, and owner teams.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute commissioning scripts for mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
  • Lead Level 1 through Level 5 testing on critical power and cooling infrastructure
  • Manage punchlist resolution and coordinate with trade partners
  • Conduct integrated systems testing (IST) including failure scenarios and load bank testing
  • Produce commissioning reports and turnover documentation

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of data center commissioning experience
  • Deep knowledge of critical power systems (UPS, switchgear, generators, ATS)
  • Experience with chilled water, DX, and/or liquid cooling systems
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and controls sequences
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%

What You'll Do

  • Commission liquid cooling distribution systems (CDUs, manifolds, piping networks)
  • Develop test procedures for direct-to-chip and immersion cooling deployments
  • Validate flow rates, pressure, leak detection, and thermal performance
  • Collaborate with OEMs and design engineers on startup procedures
  • Document lessons learned and build best-practice playbooks

What You Bring

  • 3+ years in mechanical commissioning or piping systems
  • Experience with liquid cooling technologies (any type) is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and water treatment
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%
